Richard worked for the NHS for over 35 years, retiring as Board Secretary of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in 2020. However, Richard returned to the world of work in 2024 and is now Corporate Director of Governance for LLais, the people’s voice body for health and social care in Wales. He continues to be active in a range of third sector and community organisations both locally and overseas, with a particular commitment to supporting services for the care of young people and cancer research.
